Acute Gastritis of the Stomach Due to Over Eating and Soft Drinks?

In 2007 I was diagnosed with Acute Gastritis of the stomach. The pain is extremely painful and stomach feels like something is pumping or beating. Eating is very difficult because the pain hurts more when food enters my stomach. I thought it was just a simple hyper acidity attack but the pain just wouldn't stop and I always felt a burning sensation accompanied with hunger.

I have taken different types of antacids, zantacs, kremil-s, and losec but it didn't help at all. I've taken water therapy hoping would ease the pain but unfortunately the pain is too much to bear. Even a slightest move, I would feel pain in my stomach. I also feel that something is beating when I touch my stomach. My upper abdomen is squeezing and felt hard. I hadn't see the doctor yet hoping that home medicine would help. I tried ginger, aloe vera juice, and some other herbs that my mother prepared for me.

After 3 days of enduring the pain, I finally went to the doctor. My Gastro Specialist scheduled me for endoscopy, its a process where the doctor will insert cable with camera going to your stomach. It didn't feel good when the cable pass through your throat, to your esophagus down to your stomach, I feel I couldn't breath but the kind doctor always remind me to relax and take a breath through my nose. But the feeling of something is going through your stomach is something I couldn't take it, I feel like puking. What I can do is stay calm.

It didn't take long when my doctor saw something in my stomach, he said its like red bites of mosquitos. That is how he describe it to me. He said I was lucky that it didn't turn to a more serious complication.

That day, I was given prescription for Acute Gastritis. I had to take antibiotics and antacids for several days. My antibiotic is Clarithromycin while my antacid were Pantoloc and Mucosta (30 days before meals). I tell you that this medicines are expensive. It emptied my pocket and spend a lot more money on these medicines.

I ask my doctor what causes Acute Gastritis, he said too much alcohol intake, acidic foods and drinks and stress. So I recall the day before I got sick. I drank a lot of alcohol and ate oily foods, taken soft drinks all the way. Now that's what cause my stomach pain. But why it didn't occur in the morning but had only felt after taken my lunch that I've taken from fast food store. I had taken, 2 cup of rice and 1 chicken with soft drinks?

Is it because of over eating and taking soft drinks?
What cause your Acute Gastritis?

Anyways, I had completed my medicines and felt cured after completing it. However after not knowing what really causes my stomach pain, I over ate just after I felt cured but then I felt something strange in my upper abdomen. I felt like itching in my upper abdomen. I scratch and scratch my upper abdomen because I really felt something on it.

So I took another dose of antacid and mucosta for a few days but the medicine didn't help at all. I think the medicine cause side effects after I experienced stomach tightness and bloating. So I stopped taking it and decided to visit my doctor. He said I have GERD or Gastro Esophageal Reflux Disease. Since that day my life has started to change. I was paying attention to what I eat, drink and do. I also tried so hard on managing my stress because I think stress is the number 1 factor that had cause my GERD.
